User centred packaging patent
Tea or ‘brews’ are an active part of British life; they warm the soul and can be made/shared with people from all walks of life. The access to hot beverages has increased due to the scale of food-to-go, coffee shops and high street chains. The design intervention was created from observing participants then developed and sold as a patent to Unilever. The product utilises the lid as a set of jaws to compress the tea bag, retaining it out of the brew, saving hot fingers, is more hygienic and reduced the need for a spoon.
